Woodpecker Holes / 2021 / Charcoal Monotype / 9X13”
The Woodpecker Holes series of charcoal monotypes emerges from actual rubbings made from woodpecker holes on trees in the forest, in Creston BC. The charcoal rubbings are then transferred onto a new substrate using a printmaking press. The act of rubbing the punctured surface of the trees is sealed during the printmaking process into a permanent record.
